Angel knew at the tender of age of twelve she was blessed with supernatural gifts that scared her to death. She was in the girls' bathroom in middle school with her best friend who was upset. She was crying, as she did from time to time, while sharing a family problem with her. Angel gave her a hug, comforting her as always, while patting her back and saying little things to hopefully make her feel better, as a twelve year old would. By then, Angel was already used to feeling the pain of others and assumed her empathic ability was natural for everyone. But this time, what she experienced was anything but natural. Not only did she feel her friend's pain and sympathize with her for it, but it was as though she WAS her, actually living inside her heart, body and mind. It was then that Angel understood there was something different and not at all normal, about her.
